Our Hope Lies In Something Else. John E Martinez 4-13-14

John E. Martinez (Student Pastor)

I am the Student Pastor and I’m married to Angie. We have three children – Brooke, Jonathon and Marcus.

My favorite hymn is What a Day That Will Be and my favorite verse is Romans 5:8 “But God commands his love toward us, in that while we were yet  sinners, Christ died for us”.

I have been on this incredible Maypearl journey since September of 2007.  It has been one countless blessing after another working with these amazing kids, thru this incredible church and being a part of this great community.  I have often stated that I need these kids more than they will ever need me.  The fulfillment and joy that I experience on a daily basis is what I believe the Bible talks about –  “peace that surpasses all understanding.”  We have affectionately called our youth group, “C4”, which stands for:  Committed to Christ, Centered on the Cross.  C4 is a military explosive used to break down barriers and make way for an assault.  It is our desire to break down the barriers of discord and dissention with the Good News that Christ can heal and nurture and comfort.  We desire to “assault” this community with the power of hope and the willingness to serve our Lord with power and conviction.  We are an extremely active and energetic youth group with many activities and events throughout the year.  Please join our “assault” team and help us break down the barriers!

Sincerely,

John E. Martinez
