We have 3 children – Kylie, Chloe and Katelyn.  I graduated from Lamar High School and Midwestern State University. I began my career in law enforcement in 1989 where I have served locally as well as with the U.S. Government. My hobbies are hunting, shooting, motorcycles and spending time with my family. My favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” My favorite Christian song is “Amazing Grace”.

I married by high school sweetheart, Melissa, in April of 1994. We have been blessed with 3 wonderful children: Emma, Faith, and Samuel. I am the pharmacy manager at HEB Pharmacy in Waxahachie. As well as being a deacon, I get to work with the children’s ministry. My favorite verses (for now) are Ephesians 2:8-10 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” My favorite song is “In Christ Alone”.

Favorite Verses: Romans 6: 23 and Ephesians 1: 13-14

One of the greatest life lessons I have ever learned is the importance of having great people around you. Going back to my days of being a college athlete and a coach, I know that a person is usually only as good as the team they have around them. Individuals do not win in team sports and seldom win in life. We all need great people around us. The Bible has a lot to say about family, and I have been truly blessed with a fantastic family. God has blessed me with a godly wife, Eileen. She loves the Lord, is a prayer warrior, and is one of the funniest people I know. Those three traits make for an interesting life! She is a fantastic mother to our two children, Nick and Kelsi. Nick is a college student and an awesome young man. He is a great son and a friend. We enjoy playing and watching sports together. Kelsi is a little Eileen. She has a vibrant personality and is very funny. She loves her family, her friends, and her church. God has placed incredible people around me.

It is truly amazing to be the pastor of First Baptist Maypearl! The Bible tells us that God is the one who puts His church together, and He has assembled a remarkable group of people here to accomplish His purposes around the world. That’s right, around the world. God has given us a vision much bigger than Maypearl or even Texas, and I know how big y’all think Texas is… He has called us to make a difference , and we are committed to it. I have never seen a church so loving as this one. I have watched our people meet needs of countless people over the years. They have given sacrificially of their time, talents, and resources many times over, simply because God has called them to be His ministers. For over 14 years, God has allowed me to be involved in ministry with this great church We have seen over 500 people saved and baptized, we have built a new building together, and we will continue to reach the world for Jesus Christ as He leads us. I encourage you to come and visit one of our services and experience God at work in the lives of His people! Maybe you want to come to our Family Life Center during the week to work out or play a game, or just check out the facility. As you see our awesome facility, just remember, the church is the people and these are some of God’s best!

Hope to meet you soon,

Tony
